    Civil Air Patrol is the official Civilian Auxiliary of the US Air Force, with a long history beginning in 1941. Delaware is home to one of the original "Coastal Patrol" units, based in Rehoboth Beach. Today, the Delaware Wing of the Civil Air Patrol has units from Claymont to Georgetown, and a unit just over the border in Elkton, MD.
